Welcome back to Scenes from the Screen, where we talk about all types of films and TV. Obscure, forgotten, prestigious, rotten. From must see to, are you kidding me? Big screen and small, we cover it all. Who knows? You might discover a new gem or be reintroduced to an old favorite. My name is Sean, and I'll be your host. As promised, we do have Hollie back. Welcome back.
HollieThank you for having me back on. Proud to be here.
SeanWell, thank you for being here. I mean, we missed you. I mean...
HollieI'm sure you have.
SeanWell, you know, I mean, I I've been, you know, my back has been hurting from carrying the show since you, you know, your dalliances and everything. How'd the paddling go?
HollieIt was fun. We did, we paddled very well as a team. It was the first time I paddled with a all breast cancer survivor team, but we didn't make good time, but we were really great together as a team, and it was a wonderful experience.
SeanAwesome, awesome. I know you have some more coming up. So uh, well, just one, I think, for you, right? The Pittsburgh.
HollieYes. The next one for me will be Pittsburgh.
SeanRight. But they do have them in different cities. It's just you did your allotment for those, Toronto and Akron.
HollieYeah, the next two cities are ones that I can't go to because of work.
SeanRight, right. Well, as promised, in the last time that we did it together, we used you said you want to do a comedy.
HollieYes.
SeanAnd we chose a comedy, one that oddly enough, that almost nobody's ever heard of. But you knew about it when we first met, which was definitely impressive because not many people have heard of this movie.
HollieWell, I am very impressive, so...
SeanYou are very impressive, right. But it's Flirting With Disaster. It is actually celebrating its 30th anniversary, if you can believe that.
HollieThat's amazing.
SeanIsn't that isn't that weird?
HollieIt's just it's when you look back at the the famous people in it, you know.
SeanYeah, it brings back a lot of memories. And not only that, I I looked back because around the time Miramax, they were firing on all cylinders with movies coming out. Now, just that year alone. Did you happen to look that up at all? '96.
HollieNo, I you know I don't look up years.
SeanI mean, I'm just I just get curious. So here are some of the movies that were out that year, other than Flirting with Disaster. They had you know, Don't be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice In The Hood.
HollieThat was a funny one.
SeanJane Eyre, Emma...
HollieI love that
Sean...was that year. Here come some we we uh we we like just about all of these. Beautiful girls.
HollieThat's okay.
SeanIt's fun though.
HollieIt's yeah, I think that one's overrated.
SeanGot apps.
HollieYeah, I do like that one line.
SeanI love that line, "We got apps." Uh From Dusk Till Dawn.
HollieAwesome movie.
SeanYes. Swingers.
HollieAwesome movie.
SeanScream.
HollieYes, another good movie.
SeanAnd one I've never seen that won the Oscar for that year, The English Patient.
HollieI actually never saw that either. And I think the episode of Seinfeld made me really not really want to watch it.
SeanI agree. It seems like a very long drawn-out film with this. I mean, I don't know.
HollieIt's not my style.
SeanNo, no, it absolutely is not mine either. So, um, but I mean that's a hell of a lineup just for that year alone. I mean, yeah, I mean, notwithstanding, you know, W einstein's...
HollieScream is 30 years old?
SeanScream is 30 years old.
HollieOh my goodness.
SeanYes. So that yeah, and I saw that at the theater. I did not see this, I did not see Flirting With Disaster at the theater, though.
HollieNo, I didn't either.
SeanI wasn't familiar with it, which is weird because I I saw a lot back then. I mean, judging this, I saw most of those in the in the theater that we mentioned.
HollieI think, but at the time, if you think 30 years ago, would you think the main the lead actors were that popular?
SeanUh, back then no.
HollieI mean one. Right. Well, the main character guy, he was semi-getting popular, but I don't think he they're near as famous as they are now.
SeanBen Stiller.
HollieYeah.
SeanRight. Ben Stiller, right. I think that was the beginning because a couple years later, I think two years later, he did There's Something About Mary. I mean, he was kind of known for, but I mean, obviously, being the son of Jerry Stiller and Anne Meara, you know, he was he was and he's funny in his own right. It's not like he wasn't a Nepo baby. He he he does have to he actually directed the The Cable Guy in '94. So he he was well known. But and I don't know why that failed. That's one we'll have to do...
HollieI don't think he was a draw for the movie theater.
SeanNo, he was not not for not he found his niche, I guess.
HollieRight.
SeanBut it was written directed by David O. Russell, who uh I mean, he's well known for. Uh I don't know if you're familiar with him.
HollieThe name is very familiar.
SeanHe's the one Clooney threatened to beat the shit out of him on this on the set of Three Kings.
HollieOh, so he does more like action stuff?
SeanNo, Three King. So he directed that.
HollieOkay, I remember that movie.
SeanWith yeah, with Clooney, and because he was berating the cast and crew, and Clooney basically said he was gonna punch him in the goddamn face. So apparently they kind of made amends years later, but not he said he'd still never work with him. Clooney said he wouldn't. I you know, and he also involved it was involved in an altercation with a star of this film, in I Heart Huckabee's who was Lily Tomlin.
HollieHow can anyone be involved in that kind of thing with Lily Tomlin?
SeanBut I guess that you know tensions ran high in the stuff. And you can actually find that one on YouTube. If I get a chance, maybe I'll put in the link to the and in the notes. But yeah, so I mean, basically it seems like he's kind of a real fuck face. I don't know. I mean, I I I don't know. He's directed Amsterdam. Uh we did see that. It was, it was a it was okay.
HollieYeah, that was okay.
SeanYou know, some other films that we've I can't remember offhand, it'll it'll come to me. Some of the ones he did. But so the basic premise of Flirting With Disaster, you you take it. What is what um...
HollieIt's about a man who's confused. He just had a him and his wife just had a baby a few months ahead of time, but they haven't named the baby because he's confused about his own identity because he was adopted. He comes from a very neurotic family, which you can see the nature versus nurture because just the way the movie pans out, but he's he's very neurotic and he searches for his biological parents, and that's what the movie's about the the journey for the biological parents and all the interesting people they meet along the way.
SeanRight. And you know, so Ben Stiller plays Mel, the main character, Patricia Arquette plays his wife, Tea Leoni plays the...
HollieAdoption agent representative.
SeanAdoption, right, the caseworker, and then you have uh great cast, his so his adoptive parents are Mary Tyler Moore and George Segal.
HollieMary Tyler Moore in his movie. That's all you can say.
SeanWell, and and George Segal, too. He has probably our best line, which is so when they're when they're first about to embark on their journey to San Diego...
HollieSan Diego, yes.
Sean...George Segal, Mel Mel's father, says, you know, you know what happens out there.
HollieYou gotta be careful out there.
SeanRight. They bump you on the when you're in the car, and then they pull you, they make you pull over, and then they mutilate you. So it somewhat kind of happens when they go to to San Diego where there was a car pulling up next to them, and it was all misunderstanding. But Patricia Arquette, they bump you, and when you stop, they mutilate.
HollieBut when she talks to the dad, when he's telling the story about this guy he knows that that happened to, she goes, Oh my goodness, I didn't know so-and-so was dead. And he goes, Who said they were dead? She goes, You said mutilate. And he goes, Ah.
SeanIt seems like anybody's parents when you both do.
HollieTypical New York, neurotic, you know, stereotypic parents.
SeanYes, yeah, like Wasps almost. Like they were the Waspy parents. And then along the way, they do meet. I mean, there's a whole cast of characters. I think his name's David Patrick Kelly, who was in Twin Peaks. He plays Fritz Boudreau, who they also think is his father.
HollieThey thought was his father, yeah.
SeanLike there's really a series where they go through where they're incorrect. So Tea Leoni's company is or she is very...
HollieTechnically she was only incorrect once, because Fritz Boudreau did was involved in the adoption.
SeanTrue. Yeah...
HollieThe first woman was the wrong one.
Sean...dropped the baby off.
HollieRight.
SeanRight. And he actually has the second best line of that movie. When he says, Yeah, when he says they're in the semi-truck cab, and they want to teach him how to drive, and they're like, Well, I don't think that's a good idea. And he's he's like, You ain't no bitch boy, are you, Mel? And Ben Stiller delivers the line perfectly. No, I don't believe I'm a bitch boy. I use that line a lot because that to me is that's hysterical.
HollieYeah. He's so flat when he says it too. No, I don't believe I'm a bitch boy. Right. I love the way he does that.
SeanAnd he's so deadpan sometimes. But and so they were they meet up with Josh Brolin's in it, Richard Jenkins, Lily Tomlin, Alan Alda. It is it's just such an amazing cast. And it's it it it it's about an hour and a half long.
HollieIt's quick, it's not a long time.
SeanIt's as long as it needs to be. And that's what I miss about movies and comedies, because comedies should be no longer than an hour and 45 minutes. You better be really damn funny if you're over that. And there aren't many that are.
HollieThis movie uh is one that every it's every time I watch it, I'm always every when I watch movies a lot that I like. I always kind of find someone like you start to get used to them, and you're like, oh, that person really isn't my favorite. This one is. But this movie, similar to another one of my favorite movies, is every time I watch it, there's a different character that I think is the best one in a positive way. Like there nobody sucks in this movie. Even the B&B lady, I love the old B&B lady...
SeanYes.
Hollie...so like it's just every in to this time. I think Richard Jenkins was my favorite. Although I do love Mary Tyler Moore in it. But Richard Jenkins, I loved him. I love him.
SeanIt's such an off-beat movie. That's the thing. It's so if you're looking for straightforward comedy like slapstick or just oh, it's like stupid comedy. This is not gonna be for you. This is a very dry, it's not even dark, it's just a very dry comedy. And again, off-beat is the only word I can use to describe it.
HollieIt says black comedy. I don't necessarily consider this a black comedy.
SeanOh, no, because that would be very dark. That'd be...
HollieRight.
Sean...like The Menu is a black comedy. Network, or not Network, I'm sorry, the well, Network is kind of a black comedy.
HollieThe end. Right.
SeanSo uh this one is not. I think this is a straightforward comedy.
HollieIt's straightforward and it's it's quirky and off-beat, and I think it's very character and actor-driven. It's almost like the rules were made for these specific actors. Like I couldn't imagine anyone else playing his biological mother other than Lily Tomlin.
SeanAbsolutely. And and Alan Alda.
HollieAnd the the I don't know the young man's name, but well, he's not young anymore. But the who played his biological brother.
SeanYes, Lonnie.
HollieYeah. He was all, I mean, there everyone is just amazing in it.
SeanYeah, they are, and and and that's and like I said, I that's why I can't believe not many people have heard it's Glenn Fitzgerald who played um Lonnie.
HollieHe's awesome in it.
SeanI can't believe not many people have heard of this. It's just it, and I probably wouldn't have known about it when I worked at a video store in the late 90s, so it'd have been what about 98, somewhere around there. And I I happened upon this, and uh I immediately bought it because it was on VHS, because it was because it was hilarious.
HollieI must have seen it on like HBO or something.
SeanThat's possible.
HollieI can't remember how I first saw it. And this is actually one that my family likes, like my mom loves this movie, also. It's definitely one that we've watched.
SeanAnd there's a lot of twists and turns, things you don't expect. Like the when they get, you know, when when Mel kind of wrecks into the post office, and that's when uh Josh Brolin and Richard Jenkins come in. You know, you don't expect a turn it takes with their characters.
HollieI think after 30 years we can do the spoiler.
SeanWell, I mean, I don't know. I don't want to spoil it too much because that is that is such a good twist. And it's it's not like it is kind of a major part of it, but yeah, I mean it's just...
HollieIt's a it's a major part of Richard Jenkins' character.
SeanMajor part of his, yes.
HollieI mean Josh Brolin too, but Richard Jenkins especially, the way he he um goes through his little change. I think it really that part is important to know.
SeanRight. And Richard Jenkins, we just saw in DTF St. Louis, which he's always been great. I I I love watching him in anything.
HollieHe's funny. Like he's just when you look at him or you see him in something serious, you're like, he doesn't seem like he could be funny. He is actually very, very funny in this movie.
SeanHe is, yeah. I mean, they they like I said, there's not one person, and you're right, who I think anybody else could do those roles. You know, again, leading off just with Ben Stiller, took a chance on him as a leading man, which it if that paid off in this movie and later on down the line, you know, being in several films, Tropic Thunder, he was great. And you know, he he is he's just funny in and of himself.
HollieYeah, he's just a funny person. I I think one of my favorite scenes, just for the star power in it, is the scene with Mary Tyler Moore and I'm blanking on him.
SeanGeorge Segal?
HollieGeorge Segal, and then you have opposite them Lily Tomlin and Alan Alda. When the four of them are in that scene together, that's just so awesome. Because I this has to be the only time you get Mary Tyler Moore and Lily Tomlin on camera together. Because those two are like to me, they are...
SeanComedy legends.
HollieYes, they are who new actress and comedians should be looking up to, should be looking up to these people.
SeanYeah, and I mean in all four, that was that those four are basically your 70s.
HollieAnd they're still alive, right?
SeanAltogether. They...
HollieLily is.
SeanGeorge Segal, George Segal died years ago. I always loved George Segal.
HollieI I I mean, this movie I love him in, but there's some been some others that Carbon Copy, I hated.
SeanI I mean I I love Carbon Copy because it's so stupid. I mean, it's it's just it's dumb.
HollieBut I, Lily Tomlin...
SeanAnd that's when it was on HBO, and yeah, it's uh obviously politically incorrect.
HollieRight.
SeanIn a way, I mean yeah, the main that's what they're making fun of.
HollieRight. But I think Lily Tomlin to me is like the pinnacle. Like she is just I I just love Lily Tomlin. There's nothing that she's ever done that I've been like, ah, it's okay. You know, she's just a funny person, and she seems so interesting and nice, and lady next door with some quirkiness to her, you know, she just seems like a really cool person. She's someone I would like to meet.
SeanShe has been around a long time, and nothing is disappointing. Even you know, a movie that I know you've seen and we do love from. I know it's early 80s, probably 80, 81, The Incredible Shrinking Woman.
HollieShe's great in that one too.
SeanI would I would love to see that again. I've not seen that in, and that's one I would watch all the time on HBO.
HollieWell, you didn't watch the the show I watched.
SeanNo, the Frankie and...
HollieFrankie and...
SeanNot Johnny...it's...
HollieNo, um I can't remember the name of it. That's terrible. That's my...
SeanI can't either. You...
HollieI'll look it up.
SeanYou watch it.
HollieYes, it was she was amazing in that. She plays a very similar kind of character that she does in this in this movie. It's and I think that might be a little bit of her...
SeanGrace Grace and Frankie.
HollieFrankie and Grace.
SeanIt's Grace and Frankie.
HollieYeah.
SeanUm and you know, the names of Alan Alda and Lily Tomlin. Their names are the Schlichtings, but they keep messing up... the shit kings.
HollieYeah. The shit yeah, the shit kings.
SeanThe shit kings. Yeah, like I said, the script is and David O. Russell, yeah, and I I think I said he wrote and directed.
HollieHe wrote the script too?
SeanHe wrote it too, which I mean for you know, that was pretty talented.
HollieYeah, that's it's a it's the only thing, and it's not it doesn't bother me, but it might bother some people, is the fact that they're from New York. So his Arquette's character, where are they? When in Arizona or somewhere when he wrecks the truck? No, they were cold.
SeanYeah, they were cold. So it has to be somewhere up north. I can't remember exactly what it was.
HollieSo they're up, they're not in New York, not anywhere near New York. They're traveling, and she runs into someone she went to high school with.
SeanYeah, I mean that's that's the one little...
HollieBut again, it didn't bother me.
SeanIt didn't bother me. No, it didn't bother me.
HollieBecause you're like, yeah, that that could in this movie, when you watch it, that could happen.
SeanIt absolutely could. I mean, there was so one time, you know, I I had worked with someone at a restaurant for a year or so, and she ended up moving to New York. So one time my I was visiting Andy in New York, Mark and I were visiting Andy, and Andy lived in Brooklyn. And for the couple days we were there, for like three, four days, we took the same way back from breakfast every day. And the one day I said, Oh, let's go down this street. So we went down a different street, and I saw that girl that I worked with a couple years before, which that was by total...
HollieRight.
Sean...I mean oddity.
HollieYeah, so that thing could like I said, in this movie, that kind of thing could happen, and it makes it very is it doesn't it makes it still enjoyable, like it's still you're like, oh cool. Now she has someone kind of on her side.
SeanRight well, she almost didn't before.
HollieBecause I I in her character I really liked a lot too. She was she was sweet, you know.
SeanShe was, yeah.
HollieShe was very nice to his neurotic, she was normal, she was normal, yeah. She was the only one in all the entire character list who is actually just normal, and she plays it very well, which is kind of a hard one to do with that movie when you're the normal one and everyone else is kind of wacko.
SeanAbsolutely, yeah. Because, yeah, because yeah, I can't think of another nor. I mean, you're right, another normal character...
HollieNobody's normal.
Sean...in that in that movie, even the B&B lady. I mean, it's normal for her, but yeah, and and now I I after that movie, that's why I never wanted to stay at a B&B. I have to admit, and and Parks and Rec episode.
HollieYou're not good B&B people.
SeanI am not good BNB people. I would I would not not at all enjoy that. Where it had, yeah, there's rules set for the house. I don't, I'm not...
HollieBut they have cats.
SeanThey do have cats, which is yeah, nice. But...
HollieToo many.
SeanThat was like the episode of uh Parks and Rec.
HollieRight.
SeanWhere they have they go out camping, but they end up in the...
HollieThey're similar B and B ladies.
SeanRight? Very similar almost. Yeah. Uh like I said, yeah. So I don't know, is this rewatchable? Absolutely.
Hollie100 percent.
SeanI would I would watch this anytime it was on.
HollieYeah, and when I looked it up, AI has determined that yes, it is a good movie.
SeanOh, really? Well well good for AI.
HollieWe're all happy about that. And I think it's like I said, if you like any of those actors in it, if you you know, if you're whoever you like, if you like Alan Alda, watch it. If you like Stiller, watch it, you know. I don't I don't care who. Even Josh Brolin is funny in it, you know, and he's typically not where you go to for humor.
SeanYeah, and that was kind of the in-between for Josh Brolin because '96 was so it was almost like...
HollieWhen did he do Goonies?
SeanThat was '80s. That was like '85.
HollieOh, okay.
SeanSo and then before No Country For Old Men, which was 2007. I mean, I'm sure he was in a lot, but he wasn't a big name.
HollieHe was not, I mean, his dad, but he wasn't a big name, no.
SeanNo, I mean he was still good. He was, you know, but he was yeah, he was nowhere near.
HollieThat's what I'm saying. Like the big names would be Mary Tyler Moore and Lily Tomlin, George Segal, Alan Alda. The parents are the big names, but they're the big names for a different generation. You and I wouldn't go say, hey, let's go to a movie with Alan Alda in it. But you might, because you're kind of dorky, but I wouldn't...
SeanI would, yeah.
HollieYeah.
SeanI mean, I saw Betsy's Wedding, which he he wrote and directed.
HollieMolly Ringwald was in that.
SeanI mean, that's not I that's not I love Betsy's Wedding, but we'll talk about that at some point.
HollieYeah, but it's definitely I highly recommend watching it. It's just, you know, a light-hearted, funny, quirky comedy that's just an enjoyable hour and a half to sit and relax.
SeanYeah, you're not gonna devote a lot of time to it. Like I said, it breezes right through.
HollieAnd there are, if you think about it, for being 30 years old, there's a few secondary storylines that are very pertinent to today.
SeanThey're absolutely...
HollieThe Richard Jenkins storyline is very highly important today and discussed. Even Mary Lily Tomlin and Alan Alda's career.
SeanYes.
HollieAnd then why Richard Jenkins and Josh Brolin don't stay at the B&B where Lily Tomlin lives. That's environmental. Like there's a lot of themes that have to do with things that we worry about and talk about today.
SeanYeah, it was it was very ahead of his time in terms of things like that. Which you know, I mean kudos, kudos to Russell for writing that movie. For me, I think it's his it's his best movie. Because I have to look up some of the other stuff. Because I looked it up the other night, and again, it just it kind of just slipped my mind. I don't know why.
HollieDid he direct and write the other movie? Is he always a writer and director, or does he do sometimes one of the other jobs? You know what I mean?
SeanExactly. Yeah, I think I think he is more or less an au teur.
HollieIs that what that means?
SeanUh American Hustle, uh Silver Linings Playbook.
HollieOh wow.
SeanThe Fighter.
HollieHe is he's pretty damn good then.
SeanYeah, I mean he's he's done he's done quite a bit. Yeah, he at least co-writes or writes uh almost everything that uh that I can see that he does. And even Tea Leoni is I really enjoy her character. The way she's so I don't know, she's very she's almost more of a reflection of his adoptive parents with the neuroses and everything. I agree.
HollieAnd that shows, you know, and then his uh his biolog the differences between his adoptive parents and his biological parents are so extreme. So different. Except for, I mean, they got the quirkiness to both, but their their lifestyle and everything is so so different that it it's just it's just funny. It makes it funny when you have like oil and water together like that.
SeanRight.
HollieAnd you can almost see why Mel's a little neurotic.
SeanAnd there are so many, so many great one-liners. And like I said, we've already named a couple, but there it's it's a highly quotable movie.
HollieYeah.
SeanYou know, I mean we've said them as kind of non sequiturs in some places, like for the one, uh yeah, I guess the old guidebook is the one that had the uranium, or the new guidebook is the one that had the uranium warning in it.
HollieYep.
SeanStuff like that is it's just and it's again, it's how it's delivered. And did you notice too? And I I thought about this. I'm glad I just I jotted it down and completely forgot about it. But especially the one place that they go and the he Mel finds out that he's not the woman's son, and they give him a shirt and everything. Well, when they find out he's not related, they take the shirt back. And he the way he's framed, he looks so small. Yeah, he's not really hunched over, but he kind of it's almost like his shoulders.
HollieThe the women were Scandinavian descent.
SeanRight.
HollieSo and they were very tall and big. And and and if anybody knows Ben Stiller, he's not definitely not of Scandinavian descent.
SeanNo.
HollieAnd they were talking about how he looked like one of their uncles who was a frotterist. That was very funny.
SeanThat was funny.
HollieYou know, and he's like, Oh, well, he was real excited. What's a frotterist? And when they told him the definition, he's like, Oh...
SeanYeah, that wasn't as yeah, yeah, pleasing as to be described as that.
HollieBut the the girls were even those those characters were funny, like there was a lot of people.
SeanEven the minor character, yeah, right. The uh the ones on the tangent storylines were they're all there for a reason, and they they they do bring something to the table in terms of comedy, in terms of I mean anything. Fritz and his buddy, and yeah.
HollieAnd I do love the way it ends. You know, it doesn't necessarily end with him rejoining, you know, having this happy life of, you know, family and everything. It it ends with, you know, like almost like the moral is like kind of appreciate what you got kind of thing. And you know...
SeanGrass isn't always greener.
HollieYeah, and...
SeanBe careful what you wish for.
HollieRight. And that's some, you know, his wife loves him so much and he doesn't appreciate her. And then he grows to understand how much that is what's important, not where he comes from, not you know, who his parents are, but who he is now and where he is now in his life and his family, which is him and his wife and his baby.
SeanI agree.
HollieAnd the name, what they name the baby, I think is my favorite.
SeanYes, yeah, yeah. But we don't want to ruin that...
HollieI'm not gonna ruin it.
Sean...because it's because they're they do go through a couple names.
HollieYes, they do name the baby. Ethan is pedestrian.
SeanYes.
HollieShe wanted to name the baby Ethan, but he said it was pedestrian.
SeanYeah, just a great movie. So I don't know what we're gonna do. I actually have an idea for next time. I think it's a double feature I want to do possibly. So I'll I'll I'll run it by you separately because I don't want to promise anything and not deliver. But I'm gonna and we're gonna come up with um I know Bill will be back. We're gonna do that in a couple weeks. Yeah, he uh and you know he called and like I said, summer is just tough. People have things going on, so it's you know...
HollieWe gotta get your horror movie fans involved more, and you talk horror a lot with two younger people who are in the Gen Z... Gen Z is that what they are... yes, the Gen Z generation. So getting them to actually commit and do anything is impossible, but I think once I think the the different in the gener the difference in the generation how you can talk with them, I think is gonna be really interesting to hear. And I'm curious to hear you talk with with Maddie or talk with Lance and just they look at things so differently. And I think that's gonna be interesting. We're you know, you and I are very similar, except some movies you like and I hate.
SeanRight. And we we haven't really hit upon...maybe we'll have to do one of those soon. You know, just like uh we watched that, you know. Yeah, again, we've disagreed on.
HollieI mean there's a lot of them.
SeanThere are there are a lot of them.
HollieUm I think we should do Pieces. I don't know we should...
SeanI want to do Pieces for Halloween.
HollieI want to do Pieces...
SeanI'm saving it for that.
Hollie...I want to do it on video, like like that show you like that Mystery Science Theater 3000.
SeanMystery Science Theater 3000?
HollieAnd that's how we need to do Pieces.
SeanI'm surprised they have not done, I mean, not as far as I know. They Rifftrax may have done it, but I don't...
HollieThat is my favorite.
SeanWell, I watched another one. I told you about it today, and that one would actually be up there with that. And that's I'm not gonna reveal that because that's part of a series, and I watched all of them over the past few days. When you were paddling, I said, you know, I'm gonna watch these. I may or may not do it on my own, but Lance may do it because I definitely want to see younger person's at you know, yeah, they may not know a lot of like I actually almost want to do with Gary because Gary would Gary and I would...
HollieLike you have a history of the actors and everything. If he just watches just that, he wouldn't have any history, he would be coming in it fresh. So that's what would be nice and different.
SeanRight. I mean, he knows whom some of them are, but not all of them.
HollieRight, yeah. Well he's a movie person so he does know some things, but it would be more fresh.
SeanYeah, yeah. So yeah, I guess I work on that. I think that would be uh who that that one, I think we would probably laugh non-stop, especially at at least two of the films in the series.
HollieAnd we will be going to the movie theater shortly. And we...
SeanTo see Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
HollieYeah, so I feel like we should do that one just to be a little more.
SeanMaybe it'll be uh maybe that'll be a two episode two episode one, or maybe not. Maybe...
HollieTwo eppers.
SeanTwo eppers. Uh maybe yeah, that week if we maybe we'll just do that because I think we're August 1st, so we wouldn't have it in time for the August 1st podcast episode, at least, but probably the 8th.
HollieOkay, that's fine by me I just want to do that one because I'm really looking forward to that.
SeanAs am I. Oh, there's Hannah.
HollieHannah!
SeanYeah, shaking it off. Yeah, I see you.
HollieI I want also want to thank you for for watching this movie again. Flirting With Disaster.
SeanI'll watch it anytime. Uh absolutely anytime.
HollieIt was it just brought back a lot of the the how funny that movie was and how much I really liked it. So I'm glad we watched it again.
